The notification is a single document for two employers, which is why a search for NVS PRT returns it. The primary-teacher scheme, the D.El.Ed and B.El.Ed routes and the CTET Paper-I condition all belong to the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan columns. Navodaya's own columns begin at TGT because its schools begin at Class VI.

This calendar is common to every post in Notification 01/2025, including posts for which Navodaya has no vacancy. Result declaration is running post-wise rather than all at once, and CBSE has said the remaining posts will continue to be declared in phases. The application window closed in three stages: 4 December 2025 as notified, extended to 11 December 2025 by the CBSE notice of 5 December, and reopened until 15 December 2025 by the CBSE notice of 13 December for candidates whom the KVS/NVS qualification mismatch had blocked, after Corrigendum-2 aligned the two sets of qualifications.

The single most common error here is treating NVS PRT as a post that exists. It does not, at least not in the recruitment now running. Because CBSE advertises Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti in one notification, the PRT scheme appears in a document whose cover names both bodies, and candidates read across the fold. The PRT vacancies, the Level 6 pay, the D.El.Ed route and the CTET Paper-I condition are all in the KVS columns.

A Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya admits children at Class VI and takes them to Class XII, so the teaching establishment is built entirely from Trained Graduate Teachers and Post Graduate Teachers, with Principals above them. Notification 01/2025 reflects that exactly: the NVS tables total 5,841 posts made up of 9 Assistant Commissioner (Academics), 93 Principal, 1,513 PGT, 18 PGT (Modern Indian Languages), 2,978 TGT, 443 TGT (3rd Language) and 787 non-teaching posts. There is no row to look for. This is not an omission for one cycle that might be corrected by a corrigendum; Corrigendum-3 dated 10 December 2025 revised only the Physical Education figures and stated that all other details of the notification and of Corrigenda 1 and 2 remain the same.

A senior secondary pass with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education and CTET Paper-I meets the KVS PRT requirement and nothing in the Navodaya list. The NVS entry grade is TGT, and the TGT requirement for the academic subjects is a four-year integrated NCTE degree with 50 per cent in the subject and in aggregate, or a bachelor's degree with 50 per cent plus a B.Ed with 50 per cent, together with CTET Paper-II and competence to teach in both English and Hindi. A diploma does not substitute for the degree and Paper-I does not substitute for Paper-II. Candidates holding only the primary qualification therefore have one route inside this notification, and it is the Kendriya Vidyalaya one.

The notification allows a single application covering more than one post but requires a separate fee for each post applied for. For teaching posts the fee is Rs 1,500 plus Rs 500 processing charges; SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from the fee itself but the Rs 500 processing charge is still mandatory. The practical consequence for anyone who came looking for NVS PRT is that the choice is not between two employers at the same level but between a primary post in KVS and, if the degree and B.Ed exist, a graduate post in NVS carrying a different pay level, a different age ceiling and a different CTET paper. Those two lines were written on the same form and paid for separately.

Anyone weighing the two employers should read the NVS service conditions rather than the pay line alone. The notification requires NVS teachers to live on the Vidyalaya campus in rent-free accommodation, take House Mastership duties, supervise remedial and evening study, run co-curricular activities and escort students on migration, with probation assessed on residential duties as well as teaching. A ten per cent special allowance is attached to those duties for NVS posts other than Assistant Commissioner (Academics). Initial posting may be anywhere in India, and TGT (Regional Language) selections are posted outside their linguistic state to begin with. A KVS primary posting carries no equivalent obligation to live at school.

Tier-1 was written on 10 and 11 January 2026 and results were published on 28 February 2026. Tier-2 ran from 27 to 31 March 2026, with Primary Teacher on 27 March and Primary Teacher (Special Educator) on 29 March, and the answer key followed on 13 May 2026. Results began appearing on 17 and 18 August 2026 and are being released post-wise; the phase reported on 3 September 2026 included the Primary Teacher posts. CBSE's press note of 18 August 2026 says the remaining posts are being finalised and will continue in phases, and that interview schedules and call letters will appear in candidate logins after they are fixed with KVS and NVS. No fresh notification has been issued.
