The first thing to establish is which of these applies, because sitting PGEE does nothing for an MBA, MCA or M.Tech application and a PGCET rank does nothing for an M.A. or M.Sc. one. The PGEE route publishes its results subject by subject and then consolidates them into merit lists on the university's own admissions portal; the PGCET and management routes conclude with centralised seat allotment run outside the university.

The University of Mysore admissions portal lists deadlines without attaching publication dates to its results and merit list items, so those two rows record the fact of publication rather than a date. One aggregator describes the PGEE as having been held in May 2026 with counselling expected in July and August; that does not sit easily with an official regular application deadline of 17 August and a second round closing on 6 September, so the May exam date should not be relied on.

The recurring error with Mysore University postgraduate admission is assuming PGEE is the door to everything. It is not. The professional programmes are filled through the Karnataka Examinations Authority and through management tests, on a state calendar the university does not control, and a candidate who prepares only for PGEE has prepared for the wrong examination if their target is MBA, MCA or M.Tech.

PGEE is the university's own common entrance for taught masters programmes across arts, science, commerce and social work, and its results are published subject by subject on the university admissions portal. MCA and M.Tech go through Karnataka PGCET, run by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, and MBA additionally accepts KMAT, CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT and ATMA scores with KEA conducting centralised seat allotment. Some programmes are selected on merit without an entrance test at all. These are four different application processes with four different deadlines, and the only one visible on the university's own portal calendar is the first. Establish which applies before reading any date.

The results page carries thirteen separate documents, one each for Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Economics, English, History, Kannada, Political Science, Social Work, M.Tech URP, Group-1 Life Science and Group-3 M.Com. The grouping labels matter. Life Science is administered as Group-1 and M.Com as Group-3, which means candidates from several undergraduate backgrounds compete within one paper and one result document rather than in discipline-specific silos. A candidate checking for a result under a narrow subject name, rather than the group label their paper belonged to, will not find it and may wrongly conclude publication is pending.

The portal records three successive closings: an extension to 23 July, the regular application deadline of 17 August, and the second-round admission deadline of 6 September 2026. Three chances is more than many universities give, but the last of them expired more than a fortnight before this page was compiled, and no further round was listed. Anyone still holding an unfilled preference should be contacting the admissions helpdesk directly rather than waiting for a portal update, since vacancies at this stage in Karnataka university admissions are typically settled by direct departmental communication rather than a new published round.

The special category quota for MBA, MCA and LLM ran its own application process closing on 20 August 2026, with eligibility lists released separately from the main selection lists. Hostel admission is a further distinct application, still open through the same portal. Neither is automatic on the strength of a course admission. Candidates routinely complete course admission and assume accommodation follows; it does not, and the hostel queue is filled on its own terms. The portal also carries a revised fee structure for 2026-27 and a seat matrix separating the Manasagangotri campus from constituent colleges, both worth reading before accepting an allotment.

Aggregator pages describe PGEE as roughly fifty multiple choice questions over two hours drawn from the undergraduate syllabus, and quote application fees of about Rs 400 in one place and Rs 700 for general, OBC and EWS candidates with Rs 400 for SC, ST and PwBD in another. Those two fee figures conflict, and an aggregator claim that the examination was held in May 2026 is hard to reconcile with an official regular application deadline of 17 August.
