Two thirds of the Mathematics paper is Mathematics: Section B alone carries 200 of the 300 marks, while the general Section A carries 100. There is no separate qualifying threshold for Section B reported in these sources, so the percentage cut-off applies to the combined 300, and the negative marking of 0.25 applies uniformly across both sections.

This calendar is common to every subject paper in Advertisement 10/2024, which shares one notification and one application window across post codes 824/24 to 834/24; only the examination dates and the result notice differ by post code. The 12 and 13 April slot above is the one reported for Mathematics specifically.

The commonest mistake among DSSSB PGT Mathematics candidates is treating the recruitment as a single subject queue. Mathematics has carried at least three distinct post codes across recent cycles, 805/23 and 825/24 in the Directorate of Education stream, with further codes issued separately when NDMC or another management places a requisition. Each code has its own advertisement, its own vacancy split, its own exam sitting and its own cut-off.

Two hundred of the 300 marks come from the Mathematics section, and the 100-mark general section is shared with every other PGT subject. A candidate who scores well on reasoning and comprehension but treats post-graduate Mathematics as revision will not reach the numbers that cleared 825/24. The unreserved male cut-off of 216.50 out of 300 means roughly 72 per cent of the full paper, and since Section A is only a third of it, that score is unreachable without a high strike rate in Section B. Plan revision so that the subject section is complete before the general section is touched, and treat the general section as marks to be secured cheaply rather than as a place to make up a deficit.

The published cut-offs for post code 825/24 are UR male 216.50, UR female 223.02, EWS male 202.90, OBC male 151.99, OBC female 169.29, SC male 180.60, SC female 174.33 and ST female 153.51. Two things follow. First, the female unreserved cut-off sat above the male one, which is a function of only 10 of the 31 posts being female and not of an easier paper. Second, the OBC male figure of 151.99 is more than 64 marks below UR male, a spread far wider than in most DSSSB teaching papers, so reserved-category candidates should not calibrate their target against the headline UR number.

With 0.25 deducted for a wrong answer across 300 MCQs, a candidate who guesses 60 questions at a one-in-four hit rate gains 15 and loses 11.25, a net of under four marks for a large slice of the clock. Mathematics candidates are particularly exposed because a plausible-looking distractor in a calculation item is usually the answer to a common algebraic slip, so the guess rate is worse than random on precisely the items that look approachable. Attempt discipline is worth more here than in Section A, where elimination genuinely works. Track, in every mock, the number of wrong answers separately from the number of blanks.

DSSSB publishes an indicative syllabus keyed to the post code: there is one page for post code 825/24, PGT (Maths) in DOE and NDMC, and a separate page for post code 805/23. Coaching material that aggregates several cycles into one Mathematics syllabus can carry topics that the current code does not list and omit ones it does. Before building a revision plan, open the indicative syllabus for the exact code named in the advertisement being applied for, and check the eligibility clause alongside it, since the post requires a master's degree in the subject together with B.Ed., and the Directorate of Education verifies both at the dossier stage.

A vacancy annexure reported by Adda247 puts Mathematics at 49 posts, 33 male and 16 female, within a 510-post PGT recruitment across 33 subject categories. That is substantially larger than the 31 posts of 825/24, but it is an annexure figure and not a published advertisement, so it should be treated as indicative until DSSSB issues the notification on its own vacancies page. Candidates who missed the January 2025 window should watch the advertisement list rather than news summaries, because the post code, the reservation split and the exam scheme are only fixed when the advertisement PDF appears.
