CUET PG Exam Date, Registration and City Slip: 2024 to 2026 Timeline

Registration closed on 23 January 2026, not the 14 January in the bulletin. Every notice date 2024 to 2026, fees, and what NTA has said about 2027 (tentative March calendar).

Checked 6 October 2026. Dates below are those of the 2024, 2025 and 2026 cycles as printed in NTA notices. On 6 October 2026 NTA had published a tentative 2027 examination calendar (CUET PG in March 2027) but no 2027 bulletin, registration notice or date-sheet; the bulletin replaces the "what is known about 2027" section and, in time, the fee table.

The 2026 registration closed on 23 January 2026, not on 14 January. The Information Bulletin printed 14 January as the last date, and pages that copied the bulletin still say so. NTA moved it twice: an advisory of 16 January says the portal would close on 20 January, and the notice of 20 January extended the form to 23 January (11:50 pm), the fee to 25 January and the correction window to 28 to 30 January. The exam then ran from 6 to 27 March, with a re-scheduled sitting on 29 and 30 March, and the result came on 24 April 2026.

ProSyllabus is an independent study site. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the National Testing Agency, the University Grants Commission or any university named here. Every rule below is quoted or summarised from their published documents, and the documents control if anything here differs.

This page is the dates-and-process guide. It collects every date NTA published for the last three cycles in one place, works out the gaps between them (our arithmetic, labelled), and says plainly what is not known about 2027. For the question paper itself read the pattern guide, for the syllabus PDFs the syllabus map, and for results the result and normalisation guide; the links are at the foot of this page.

The 2026 timeline, notice by notice

The table lists each 2026 event with the date and the document that carries it. Where a later notice changed an earlier date, both are shown, because candidates and websites quote both. Dates in the "Official source" column are the notice dates; the file names on NTA's archive carry the same dates.

Where other pages get this wrong

CUET PG 2026 registration closed on 23 January 2026 (fee 25 January), not on 14 January.

Commonly published instead: Last date 14 January 2026, correction 18 to 20 January, copied from the Information Bulletin.

The bulletin was the first document; two later public notices moved every date. If you are reading an older page, check the notice date before trusting any deadline. The same rule will apply to 2027: the bulletin's dates are the plan, the notices are the record.

A small honesty note on the record: the notice that moved the deadline from 14 to 20 January is not among the documents we retrieved, so we cite the 16 January advisory, which reports the 20 January date, and the 20 January notice, which moves it on to 23 January. NTA's own 14 February notice also contains slips of its own: it quotes "14 December 2025 to 25 January 2026" as the registration period (25 January was the fee deadline) and "28 to 30 January 2025" for the correction window (it means 2026). We have used the dates in the individual notices.

Three cycles side by side: 2024, 2025 and 2026

The table gives the dates NTA actually ran, after extensions. The two right-hand columns are our subtraction: days from the form deadline to the first exam day, and from the first exam day to the result. They describe what happened, not what will happen.

CUET PG 202642 days

Each bar is the number of calendar days from the last form-submission date to the first exam day, using the dates in the table above.

Three things stand out in that table. First, the registration was extended in all three cycles, by 3 days in 2024, 7 days in 2025 and 9 days in 2026 (our subtraction from the original last date). Second, the exam has settled into a March window every year: 11 to 28 March, 13 March to 1 April and 6 to 27 March. Third, the paper length fell from 105 minutes in 2024 to 90 minutes in 2025 and 2026, which matters more for preparation than any date. The number of subjects stayed at 157 in all three years.

The number of unique registered candidates was 4,62,589 in 2024, 4,12,024 in 2025 and 4,11,366 in 2026. That is a fall of about 10.9 per cent from 2024 to 2025 and about 0.2 per cent from 2025 to 2026 (our division of the official counts), so the field the 2026 result reflects is about the size of the 2025 field.

What is known about 2027, and what is not

When we checked on 6 October 2026, NTA's CUET (PG) pages listed only 2026 notices, and no 2027 bulletin, registration notice, date-sheet or fee had been published. NTA's Examination Calendar for the December 2026 cycle onwards, on nta.ac.in, does list CUET (PG) 2027 as proposed dates: 1 to 5, 8, 12 to 20 and 24 to 25 March 2027 (17 exam days), with 30 and 31 March as buffer days. NTA marks every date in that calendar as tentative. So the month is announced; the registration dates, bulletin and fee are not.

QuestionWhat we found on 6 Oct 2026What that means
Has NTA announced CUET PG 2027 dates?Tentative only: NTA Examination Calendar (Dec 2026 cycle onwards) lists 1 to 5, 8, 12 to 20 and 24 to 25 March 2027, buffer 30 and 31 March. No bulletin, registration notice or date-sheet on exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pgPlan for March 2027, but treat the days as proposed; the date-sheet and bulletin decide
When did registration open in earlier cycles?Notices dated 26 Dec 2023, 2 Jan 2025 and 14 Dec 2025Between mid-December and early January in the last three cycles
When did the exams fall?March in 2024, 2025 and 2026March is the pattern, not a commitment
Is the format fixed?75 questions, 90 minutes, bilingual CBT in 2026 (90 minutes in 2025 too)2024 used 105 minutes, so the length has changed before

What you can do now is the preparation that does not depend on a date. Decide which question paper codes your target programmes need (the pattern guide explains why that choice is where most mistakes are made), keep your Aadhaar-linked mobile number active because the application uses Aadhaar OTP verification, and have your category certificate details ready: certificate number, date of issue and issuing authority are entered in the form, as the 2026 FAQ says, with the certificate itself needed later at admission.

Because the official site has moved between cycles, candidates meet fake look-alike pages. In 2024 the application ran on pgcuet.samarth.ac.in, in 2025 on exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG, and in 2026 on exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg, with www.nta.ac.in carrying the notices throughout. The 2025 address returned a "not found" error when we tried it on 6 October 2026, so a bookmark from last year may not work. Always reach the application through nta.ac.in and check the address before you enter any detail or pay.

Application fee: official 2026 figures and a calculator

The fee depends on your category and the number of test papers, and you may choose up to four. The base fee covers up to two papers; each further paper is charged separately. Candidates choosing a centre outside India pay the same base fee whatever their category. Bank or payment-gateway charges and GST are added on top, and the fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, according to the FAQ.

Category / centreBase fee (up to 2 papers)Each extra paper3 papers (ours)4 papers (ours)
GeneralRs 1,400Rs 700Rs 2,100Rs 2,800

One rule in the correction window affects the fee: if a correction changes your category or the number of papers, an additional fee is charged where applicable, and no fee is refunded for reducing the number of papers. Choosing papers carefully the first time is therefore cheaper than fixing them later.

Eligibility and what the form asks for

Candidates who have passed a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, or who are in the final year in the exam year are eligible to appear. There is no age limit set by NTA, but each university applies its own age, subject-combination, quota and percentage rules, and appearing in CUET PG does not entitle anyone to admission. NTA states this in the bulletin and the FAQ.

Exam cities: the "two" and "four" conflict

Candidates often ask how many exam cities they can choose. The bulletin's chapter 5 says "a maximum of TWO cities" within the state of your present and permanent address. The FAQ (question 13) says "up to Four (04) cities", and the public notice of 19 December 2025 permits candidates to select up to four examination city choices within the state of their permanent or present residence, subject to the availability of cities, with those who had already applied allowed to add choices in the correction window.

Where other pages get this wrong

You may choose up to four exam cities, within the state of your permanent or present address.

Commonly published instead: Up to two cities, from the bulletin's chapter 5.

The 19 December 2025 notice is later than the bulletin and the FAQ repeats it. Either way, NTA says it may allot a city other than your choice for administrative or logistic reasons, and that the allotted centre cannot be changed.

City slip and admit card: how long before the exam you actually get them

The 14 February 2026 notice said the city intimation slip would be available "approximately ten days prior to the examination date". In practice NTA released it in batches, and the lead time shortened for later dates. The table gives each batch, the date the slip and the admit card came out, and the days before the first day of that batch (our subtraction). The advance slip is not the admit card; the notices say so in as many words.

24, 25 and 27 Mar: city slip12 d
24, 25 and 27 Mar: admit card6 d

Our subtraction from the notice dates above. The ten-day figure in the 14 February notice was an approximation; the real lead was 4 to 12 days for the slip and 3 to 6 days for the admit card.

The practical lesson is to treat the admit card as a three-to-six-day notice. If your centre is in another city, book travel when the city slip appears, not when the admit card does, because the slip tells you the city and the admit card tells you the shift and the centre. The notices say no admit card is sent by post or email, a duplicate is not issued at the centre, and the date and shift on the card cannot be changed.

On exam day: documents and rules from the bulletin

The bulletin asks candidates to report about 90 minutes before the exam. Shifts in 2026 were 9:00 to 10:30 am, 12:30 to 2:00 pm and 4:00 to 5:30 pm, according to the date-sheet notice. You need the printed e-admit card with the self-declaration filled in, one passport-size photograph as uploaded in the form, a transparent ball-point pen and an original, valid photo ID from the bulletin's list. Calculators are not allowed, rough work goes on the sheet provided, and a candidate who does not appear on the scheduled day is not given a re-test.

Practise it, don't just read it

Dates tell you when to act; the paper decides your marks. If your target paper is the General Paper (COQP11) or the General - Management paper (COQP12), reading comprehension sits in the first section of both syllabi.

One free ten-question quiz is live for CUET PG today: Reading Comprehension Inference Questions. It practises the reading-comprehension skill that the General Paper (COQP11) and the General - Management paper (COQP12) both list under English. We have no subject-wise CUET PG quiz library, so treat it as a taster for that one skill, not as a way to prepare for a subject paper.

Frequently asked questions

What was the last date to apply for CUET PG 2026?

The final deadline for the form was 23 January 2026 (11:50 pm) and for the fee 25 January 2026, after extensions. The Information Bulletin had said 14 January.

When is the CUET PG 2027 exam date?

NTA’s Examination Calendar (December 2026 cycle onwards) proposes 1 to 5, 8, 12 to 20 and 24 to 25 March 2027, with 30 and 31 March as buffer days, and marks all dates tentative. When we checked on 6 October 2026 there was no 2027 bulletin, registration notice or date-sheet yet, so exact days per paper are not known.

How many papers can I choose, and what does it cost?

Up to four. The 2026 fee for a General candidate was Rs 1,400 for up to two papers and Rs 700 for each extra paper, so Rs 2,100 for three and Rs 2,800 for four, before gateway charges and GST. Other categories are in the table above.

How many exam cities can I choose?

Up to four, within the state of your permanent or present address, per the public notice of 19 December 2025 and FAQ 13. The bulletin's chapter 5 says two; the later notice governs. NTA can allot a different city.

When does the city intimation slip come?

In 2026 NTA released it in batches between 26 February and 12 March, 4 to 12 days before the first day of each batch. It is not the admit card.

When was the CUET PG 2026 admit card released?

In four batches: 3, 7, 12 and 18 March 2026, three to six days before the first exam day of each batch.

Can I edit my form after the correction window?

No. The 2026 correction window (28 to 30 January) was a one-time facility; once submitted the form was frozen. Mobile number, email, address, photograph and signature could not be changed at all.
