AISSEE 2026: The Cadet's Exam Day Mission Plan
Strategic Success for Class VI and Class IX Aspirants
1. The Battle Formation (Exam Pattern)
The All India Sainik School Entrance Exam is an offline, OMR-based test. Understanding that Mathematics carries the highest weightage is crucial for your final merit ranking.
Class VI300 Marks | 150 Min
Class IX400 Marks | 180 Min
No Negative MarkingAccuracy & Speed
OMR BasedPen & Paper
2. Strategic Time Allocation
Pro Tip: Since there is no negative marking, your goal is to shade 100% of the bubbles. Never leave a question blank!
Recommended time management for the exam hall:
- Mathematics (60-70 Mins): This is the "Rank Maker." For Class VI, 50 questions at 3 marks each; for Class IX, 50 questions at 4 marks each.
- Intelligence (25-30 Mins): Focus on logical patterns. These are high-scoring and quick to solve.
- General Knowledge / Science (20 Mins): Either you know the answer or you don't. Move through these quickly to save time for math.
- Language (20-25 Mins): Spend time reading the comprehension passages carefully to avoid silly errors.
3. Mandatory "D-Day" Kit
Reporting time is usually 2 hours before the exam (around 12:00 PM for a 2:00 PM start). Ensure you have:
- Admit Card Printed clearly (A4 size) with photo pasted and thumb impression done at home.
- Original Photo ID Aadhaar Card (preferred) or a School ID with a photograph.
- Passport Photo One recent passport-size photograph (same as uploaded in the form).
- Pen At least two black or blue ballpoint pens. Gel pens are not allowed.
4. NTA Dress Code & Prohibitions
Security frisking is conducted as per military-school entrance standards. To avoid delays:
- Apparel: Wear light-colored, simple clothes (T-shirts/Trousers). Avoid jackets, caps, or goggles.
- Footwear: Slippers or open-toed sandals. Shoes are often searched or discouraged.
- Banned: Geometry boxes, calculators, digital watches, or any electronic gadget.
- Water: Only a transparent water bottle is permitted inside the hall.
5. Shading the OMR: Avoiding Errors
A common mistake is incorrect bubbling. Use the Block Method:
- Solve 10 questions in your booklet.
- Shade the corresponding 10 bubbles on the OMR sheet immediately.
- Double-check the question number (e.g., if you skipped Q.15, make sure you don't shade the bubble for Q.15 by mistake).
